Abstract
The presence of new media can be used by various needs, such as watching a preferred program. However, sometimes the use of media can have negative effects such as ignoring people around us because they are too focused on what we are watching, causing bad communication behavior. This study focuses on whether there is an influence and how much influence the exposure to the Run BTS variety show on the Vlive application has on the communication behavior of BTS fans. Researchers used the survey method to distribute questionnaires to 100 respondents, namely Indonesia BTS fans. The theory of individual differences is used which sees that when the audience is exposed to messages in the media, it will cause an effect in the form of behavior. In data analysis, the researcher conducted validity and reliability tests, correlation tests, simple linear regression tests, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that there was a fairly relationship between exposure to variety show run BTS and communication behavior of BTS fans with a correlation value of 0.522. The results of the coefficient of determination show that the effect of exposure to the variety show run BTS on the Vlive application on the communication behavior of BTS fans is 27.2% and the rest is influenced by other factors. This result is also strengthened by the hypothesis test which states that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that there is a significant influence on the exposure of variety show run BTS on the Vlive application to the communication behavior of BTS's fans, in the form of positive because it causes interaction with other fans, increasing knowledge of Korean culture, relax and feel entertained. Researchers hope that further research can investigate more deeply other factors that can influence communication behavior due to watching a show on new media.
