Abstract

Stress can cause imbalance to the body. The purpose of this research was to know the factors that relates to the stress level of the students of UPN Veteran Jakarta during the online learning program in year 2021. This research used cross-sectional design study with the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method, with a sum of 393 of sample respondents used an online questionnaires. This research used Chi-Square and multiple logistic regression analysis. Variables on this research were divided into five, which are indiviual (age, gender), family support, social interaction, economic (pocket money, tuition fee), and academic (college schedule, GPA, workload demand). The result of the analysis showed that gender, family support, social interaction, and workload demand have a strong effect on the occurance of stress. Results of the multivariate analysis showed that gender (POR = 4,28%; 95% CI = 2,44 - 7,53) was the most significant variable that affects the stress level on students, followed by social interaction (POR = 2,60; 95% CI = 4,5 - 4,56) then enough family support (POR= 2,49; 95% CI = 1,33 – 4,67) and workload demand (POR = 1,83; 95% CI = 1,83 - 3,23). Gender was the most influential variable on stress levels caused by several hormones in women such as estrogen, oxytocin and sex hormones that are released during menstruation. Students were expected to apply a healthy lifestyle and manage stress better during this pandemic.
