Abstract
Kosovo is a country located on the Balkan Peninsula which unilaterally declared its independence on February 17, 2008. This caused pros and cons among its neighbors, especially Serbia who felt unaccepted about the decision taken by Kosovo and considered it illegal. Kosovo in its development after independence still has internal threats that occur in the country, ranging from the economic security sector and personal security. This makes the Kosovo country not fully recover from the slump because there are still many shortcomings in several sectors. Peacekeepers are urgently needed in dealing with issues like this. UNMIK (United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo) as a peacekeeping force in Kosovo certainly has a task that has been set in its mandate where the contents of the mandate focus on UNMIK's task to promote human rights by building peace and facilitating and cooperating with local and international partner organizations to maintain security and peace stability there. In accordance with the mandate given, UNMIK in its efforts to maintain security and peace stability in Kosovo in 2017-2019 also cooperates and facilitates several local and international partner organizations, this aims to promote and build sustainable peace in Kosovo.
