Abstract

This research aims to analyze how SFL Indonesia agenda reflects the characteristics of norm entrepreneurship and map its position in the norm life cycle. This research uses a qualitative approach with a study case design, thematic deductive analysis technique, and semi-structured interview with 8 (eight) resource persons consisting of members, participants of SFL events, speakers associated with SFL events, and secondary data such as organization’s public publications and documentations. The result of this research shows that SFL Indonesia operates the characteristics of norm entrepreneurship through framing the idea with issues that are closely related to students, building networks and legacy building. Furthermore, inside the norm life cycle, SFL Indonesia stands on the transition phase (tipping point) between norm emergence and norm cascade. The important finding of this research is the acceptance gap between the value and the label of liberalism. To an extent, liberalism values such as individual freedom, freedom of speech and free market are starting to be accepted whilst the terms of liberalism as an ideology per se remains debated.
