Abstract

Indonesia has a population of which 27.94% are classified as Generation Z. Generation Z is often associated with the generation that will build a better future for Indonesia, and pursuing a bachelor’s degree is one of the paths chosen by Gen Z. However, the reality is that many college graduates remain unemployed. In light of this, this study aims to determine how the use of LinkedIn (X1), Personal branding (X2), and digital literacy (X3) influence the employability (Y) of Generation Z in Jakarta. The Uses and gratifications theory serves as the theoretical framework for this study. A quantitative research method was employed. The sampling technique utilized purposive sampling, with questionnaires distributed via LinkedIn. The study population consisted of LinkedIn users, and a sample of 400 respondents was obtained. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis indicate that the use of LinkedIn, Personal branding, and digital literacy each have a positive and significant effect on the employability of Generation Z in Jakarta, with the magnitude of the effect being 0.064 for LinkedIn use, 0.440 for Personal branding, and 0.503 for digital literacy. The coefficient of determination indicates that the combined contribution of LinkedIn usage, Personal branding, and digital literacy to Generation Z’s employability in Jakarta is 98.5%.
