Abstract

Situ Bahar is one of the water bodies in Depok City that has experienced declining water quality due to surrounding domestic activities. One alternative for improving water quality is the application of eco enzyme. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of eco enzyme in reducing water pollution parameters in Situ Bahar. A laboratory experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed. Water samples were collected from three locations (inlet, middle, and outlet), composited, and treated with eco enzyme at control (0:10), 1:9, 2:8, and 3:7 ratios for 10 days. The analyzed parameters included pH, Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). Data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVA. The results showed that eco enzyme increased pH and DO but also increased BOD, COD, and TDS, while changes in TSS were relatively small. Significant differences were observed in pH (p = 0.028), BOD (p = 0.003), and TDS (p < 0.001), whereas DO (p = 0.405), COD (p = 0.368), and TSS (p = 0.315) showed no significant differences. Overall, eco enzyme was not effective in improving all water quality parameters of Situ Bahar.
