Abstract
This study aims to analyze influencer involvement in the production of the "Ajakan Damai Indonesia" narrative during the protests against DPR RI allowances in August–September 2025. Using a qualitative approach and the perspectives of computational propaganda concept and the cyber troops concept, this research examines the influencer recruitment mechanism, the characteristics of the produced narrative, the dynamics of influencer resistance, and the impact of the exposure of this narrative operation. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including academics, digital politics experts, and socio-political influencers with direct insight into the phenomenon, supported by document analysis of briefs, screenshots, and media coverage. The findings reveal that influencer recruitment occurred through a three-tier commissioning structure involving clients, agencies as coordinators, and influencers as executors, with briefs designed to exploit platform algorithms through simultaneous posting. The narrative reflected key characteristics of computational propaganda but ultimately failed due to exposure by several influencers and the absence of an anchor within the prevailing social reality. This exposure generated dual effects, both fostering public education and transparency, and eroding collective trust toward the influencer ecosystem. The study concludes that this operation reflects deeper structural conditions within Indonesia's digital politics, highlighting the need for stricter regulation of cyber troop commissioning practices.
