Abstract

Cholelithiasis and hypertension are non-communicable diseases that often occurntogether which are related to lifestyle patterns and inappropriate nutritional intake, which pose a risk of causing serious complications if they are not accompanied by compliance with treatment and lifestyle changes. Objective to analyze nursing care for cholelithiasis and hypertension patients through education about medication compliance used is a descriptive case study with a diagnosis of cholelithiasis and hypertension at Pasar Minggu Ragional Hospital. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, and medical record studies. Education is provided directly (face to face) using leaflets and verbal explanations. Educational material includes understanding disease, signs and symptoms, the imprortance of compliance with taking medication, low fat and low salt diet, regular physical activity, and routine blood pressure control, the results of the study showed complaints of upper right abdominal pain, neusea, vomiting, high blood pressure, and low compliance with medication and a healthy lifestyle. Nersing diagnoses formulated include acute pain, neusea, risk of ineffective cerebral perfusion, and non-compliance. After the educational intervention was carried out for 3 x 8 hours, there was an increase in the patient’s knowledge regarding disease, treatment andhealthy lifestyles as indicated by the patient’s ability to explain the material provided. Apart from that, there is a reducation in pain, disappearance of nausea and vomiting, and blood pressure is more controlled. Conclusion nursing education provided in a structured manner using leaflets and direct communication is effective in increasing patient knowledge and compliance with treatment and lifestyle changes. It is recommended that nurses maximize education as a standard intervention in nursing practice.
