Abstract

Background: Range of Motion (ROM) therapy is a nursing intervention that can be provided to stroke patients to help maintain and improve extremity mobility. Stroke patients generally experience mobility impairments related to weakness caused by impaired blood flow to the brain. ROM therapy aims to maintain joint flexibility and prevent muscle stiffness. Therefore, ROM is an important nursing intervention in the rehabilitation process for stroke patients, supporting the gradual improvement of mobility. Purpose: This Scientific Paper aims to describe nursing care for stroke patients with impaired physical mobility through Range of Motion therapy. Method: The approach used is a descriptive study in stroke patients. Data collection was carried out through interviews, physical examinations and reviews of medical records with the nursing process through assessment, diagnosis, action plans, implementation and evaluation of nursing. Results: The application of Range of Motion (ROM) therapy for three days of treatment has not shown a significant increase in Range of Motion. Conclusion: Applying Range of Motion therapy to stroke patients can help gradually improve physical mobility. Therefore, it can be a non-pharmacological nursing intervention. Recommendation: It is recommended that patients and their families independently perform Range of Motion therapy to support the patient's improvement.
