Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that commonly occurs in the elderly and can cause various complications, one of which is acute pain. This condition requires the role of nurses in providing comprehensive nursing care, including non-pharmacological interventions such as deep breathing relaxation techniques to help reduce pain and improve patient comfort. Objective: To implement nursing care using a holistic and continuous nursing process approach in patients with hypertension experiencing acute pain through the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques at RSUD Khidmat Sehat Afiat (Kisa), Depok City. Methods: The research method used was a case study with a nursing process approach, including assessment, determination of nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Results: The results showed that after the provision of nursing care and the application of deep breathing relaxation techniques, there was a reduction in pain intensity, improvement in the patient’s condition, and stabilization of blood pressure. Conclusion: The application of deep breathing relaxation techniques in nursing care can help reduce acute pain in patients with hypertension and improve patient comfort.
