Abstract
Infants or neonates are highly susceptible to infections and diseases that appear shortly after birth. Numerous cases have shown that neonates can experience health problems that can hinder growth and development and increase the risk of death. If the mother does not properly maintain her health during pregnancy, the baby may be born in suboptimal condition, such as with low birth weight (LBW). Infants with low birth weight are more vulnerable to experiencing hemodynamic instability. Providing Quranic recitation therapy and nesting in the intensive care unit (ICU) is a solution to stabilize hemodynamics and provide holistic care. This study aims to describe the provision of nursing care for LBW infants using Quranic recitation therapy and nesting on vital signs. This study involved two participants: one infant as an intervention patient and one infant as a control patient. The intervention patient received intervention once every three consecutive days for 45 minutes. Meanwhile, the control patient only received general intervention without any specific actions. Vital signs were measured using a vital signs observation sheet, which was calculated using the total average value of each examination. The results demonstrate a positive mean difference, suggesting that the use of Al-Quran murottal therapy and nesting can contribute to improving the hemodynamic stability of LBW infants during their treatment in the Perina room.
