Abstract
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age that may lead to various health complications if not properly managed, highlighting the importance of awareness in adopting a healthy lifestyle, which is influenced by health literacy, knowledge, and attitudes. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between health literacy, knowledge, and attitudes toward PCOS and awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle among female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. This study employed a quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach and stratified random sampling, involving 334 respondents. Data were collected using the Indonesian eHealth Literacy Scale (I-eHEALS), PCOS knowledge questionnaires, attitude questionnaires, and healthy lifestyle awareness questionnaires, and were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed significant relationships between health literacy and awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle (p = 0.032), knowledge and awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle (p = 0.001), and attitudes toward PCOS and awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle (p = 0.028). This study concludes that health literacy, knowledge, and attitudes toward PCOS play an important role in shaping healthy lifestyle awareness among female students as an effort to prevent and manage PCOS.
