Abstract
This study aims to analyze the legal aspects of DNR implementation in Indonesia through comparison with legal regulations in the United Kingdom and the United States, taking into account the perspective of human rights. DNR is a decision not to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This study will compare DNR provisions in Indonesia with those in the United Kingdom and the United States to facilitate the implementation of adequate DNR measures. This study will also discuss whether DNR violates the right to life and how to balance the right to life and the patient's right to self-determination. This study employs a normative legal method, utilizing both a statutory approach and a comparative approach. The data used is secondary data, which includes primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. Data collection was conducted through library research and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method. The results of the study show that Indonesia can implement several DNR provisions from the United Kingdom and the United States. In the context of balancing the right to life and the patient's right to self-determination, the implementation of DNR can be seen as fulfilling the right to life with dignity rather than as a violation of the right to life, as long as the decision is in accordance with the patient's wishes and values.
