Abstract
The Russia-Ukraine conflict has caused a massive exodus of multinational companies from the Russian market. However, it cannot be denied that thousands of multinational companies have chosen to remain in Russia, including PepsiCo from the United States. Considering this phenomenon, this study aims to analyze PepsiCo's decision to maintain its business operations in Russia during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This study also uses the theory of International Political Economy by Gilpin in 1987, the concept of Geoeconomics introduced by Mohr and Trebsch in 2025, and the concept of International Business Environments and Operations introduced by Daniels, Radebaugh, and Sullivan in 2018. Ultimately, this study shows that PepsiCo's decisions are the result of the company's internal business considerations and the configuration of broad international political economy practices.
