Abstract

The Student Oral Case Analysis (SOCA) is an evaluation method designed to assess medical students’ clinical reasoning, communication skills, and decision-making in a structured format. SOCA may generate psychological stress that influences students’ emotional and cognitive states, including anxiety levels and self-efficacy, which are essential psychological factors in exam readiness. Objective: aims to evaluate how anxiety levels and self-efficacy beliefs intersect with SOCA exam outcomes among students of the Undergraduate Medical Education Program (PSKPS), Faculty of Medicine, UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, class of 2025. Method: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design and utilized the ZSAS to measure anxiety levels, the GSES to assess self-efficacy, and SOCA examination results as outcome data. Results: The findings showed no significant relationship between anxiety levels and SOCA exam results, and no significant relationship between self-efficacy levels and SOCA exam results. Conclusion: neither anxiety nor self-efficacy was found to be a direct determinant of students’ performance in the SOCA examination.
