Abstract

University students tend to have unhealthy and irregular eating patterns, which are influenced by academic and non-academic activities. According to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the prevalence of overnutrition in DKI Jakarta reached 16.2% and obesity 31.8%. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the frequency of food delivery application usage and the consumption of high-risk foods and beverage with the incidence of overnutrition among undergraduate nutrition students at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. This study used a cross-sectional design with a Stratified Random Sampling technique, that involved 102 respondents. Data analysis included univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square. The bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between the frequency of food delivery application usage and overnutrition among nutrition students at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta (p-value=0.000). However, there was no significant relationship between the frequency of high-risk food and beverage consumption and overnutrition, with (p-values=0.514) for fast food and packaged snacks, (p-value=0.300) for sweet foods, and (p-value=0.929) for sugary beverages. This study highlights the importance of encouraging students to be more mindful of both the quality and quantity of their dietary intake.
