Abstract
This research was motivated by an analysis of hate speech that appeared in the comments column of the X account (formerly Twitter) @DokterTifa, especially in the post on August 2 2024. This post triggered a wide response from the public because it commented on the lifestyle of the Kaesang Pangarep and Erina Gudono families in the midst of the political polemic of the Pilkada Bill. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with emerging forms of hate speech. Data was obtained through observation and documentation of comment quotes containing hate speech. The research results show that netizen comments contain various forms of hate speech, including based on race, religion, ethnicity, physique, gender and social status. Some comments also contain discriminatory, insulting, degrading, provocative and even defamatory elements. This hate speech not only reflects impoliteness in communicating on social media, but also has the potential to influence public opinion and worsen the developing socio-political situation. This research emphasizes the importance of digital literacy and ethical awareness in using social media as an effort to prevent the spread of hate speech in digital public spaces.
