Abstract
This study aims to analyse the influence of investment literacy and risk & return perception on investment decisions in sharia stocks with sharia preference as a moderating variable in students of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UPN Veteran Jakarta and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis method through SmartPLS 4.0. The number of respondents was 394 students, consisting of 162 students of FEB UPNVJ and 232 students of FEB UIN Jakarta. The results show that in both populations, investment literacy and risk & return perception do not have a significant direct effect on investment decisions in Sharia stocks. However, sharia preference plays a significant moderating variable in strengthening the relationship between risk & return perception and investment decisions, both in UPNVJ and UIN students. Meanwhile, sharia preference does not moderate the relationship between investment literacy and investment decisions. These results confirm that religious values and commitment to sharia principles influence investment decisions more than knowledge or perception of profit alone. The implications of this research emphasise the importance of integrating financial literacy education and the formation of religious values to support Sharia-compliant investment decision-making among university students. Keywords: Sharia Stocks, Investment Literacy, Perceived Returns, Sharia Preferences, Investment Decisions
