Abstract
This research is motivated by the mention of the diction “Medal Giveaway” given by Metro TV to Gregoria Mariska Tunjung's victory at the Paris 2024 Olympics in badminton, because she won a bronze medal because her opponent withdrew. The diction caused controversy that made many people comment on social media and became a trending topic. The researcher focused on the behavior of members of the Marah-Marah Community on social media X in responding to the news broadcast by Metro TV on the use of the diction “Medal Giveaway” for Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who won third place at the 2024 Paris Olympics. X is the social media highlighted in this issue. This research uses a qualitative approach with the netnography method developed by Robert V. Kozinets to find out how the behavior of community members occurs when there is an issue or phenomenon in the digital world, especially social media. This research uses excel in the data collection process.
