Abstract
In Indonesia, 80-85% of acne occurs in adolescents which can affect self-confidence, so many adolescents do self-medication to overcome acne. Currently, one of the popular and favored applications of acne self-medication is acne patch. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards self-medication for acne (Acne vulgaris) with the use of acne patches in health and non-health students of UPNVJ. The design of this study was quantitative observational with a cross-sectional method and involved informed consent from the respondents. A total of 97 respondents were selected using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The results showed that the majority of respondents were 19 years old (31.25%) and 20 years old (42.86%). In general, health and non-health students of UPNVJ showed a fairly good level of knowledge and attitudes towards self-medication for acne with the use of acne patches. There was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge towards attitudes towards self-medication for acne with the use of acne patches (p <0.05). However, no significant difference was found between health and non-health students regarding the level of knowledge and attitude towards self-medication for acne using acne patches (p>0.05).
