Abstract
Drug waiting time contributes to the outpatient service time indicator, with examinations not reaching the targeted standard. At Fatmawati Hospital Pharmacy in 2025, drug service times exceeded the set standards, highlighting the need for a systematic evaluation of workflow efficiency and resource availability in order to improve service quality and patient satisfaction. This study aims to analyse the prescription service process for BPJS and general patients. Informants include pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Vocational Personnel (TVK), who are directly involved in prescription services. The study was prompted by the significant workload and the intricate nature of the prescription processes, which demand precision, timeliness and compliance with regulations, including BPJS claim procedures and the Minimum Service Standards (SPM). A qualitative descriptive approach was employed involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation and document analysis. Data were analysed using the SEIPS framework. The results showed that all service processes adhered to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and met SPM indicators, with waiting times for finished drugs of less than 30 minutes and less than 60 minutes for compounded medications. However, challenges such as limited space, noise and issues with BPJS system integration were noted. Implemented strategies included optimising the SIMRSF system and initiating digital prescription services. Further improvements are needed in terms of infrastructure, staffing and system integration
