Abstract
This study is a quantitative research aimed at empirically examining the influence of taxpayer knowledge, tax socialization, and tax sanctions on taxpayer compliance in paying motor vehicle taxes. The population in this study is based on the number of motor vehicles in DKI Jakarta Province in 2023, as data on individual motor vehicle taxpayers in DKI Jakarta Province in 2023 is unavailable. Using a purposive sampling technique, the researcher obtained 71 respondents who met the predetermined criteria and were selected as the research sample. Hypothesis testing was conducted using structural equation modeling partial least square (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS version 4 software. Based on the results, the study found that (1) taxpayer knowledge has a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance, (2) tax socialization has a positive but not significant effect on taxpayer compliance, and (3) tax sanctions have a positive and significant effect on taxpayer compliance.
