Abstract
SMAN 23 Jakarta is a senior high school education institution located in West Jakarta, DKI Jakarta. SMA Negeri 23 Jakarta utilizes website technology to provide information related to school activities. However, the current appearance of the website has not paid attention to understanding and convenience for users. Therefore, it is useful for SMA Negeri 23 Jakarta to provide the best experience when users use the website. This research aims to improve the usability of SMAN 23 Jakarta website by analyzing user experience and redesigning user interface on SMA Negeri 23 Jakarta website by using User Centered Design (UCD) method. The evaluation was conducted using System Usability Scale (SUS) and Single Ease Question (SEQ) questionnaires to measure the level of usability before and after the redesign. This research involved 89 respondents consisting of students, teachers, and staff of SMA Negeri 23 Jakarta. The test results showed that the SUS score increased from 30 to 77 after the redesign, while the SEQ score increased from 3.52 to 6.2. The increase in scores shows that the User Centered Design (UCD) method has succeeded in improving usability and providing a better user experience on the SMA Negeri 23 Jakarta website.
