Abstract

Wound laceration and suturing can lead to pain and anxiety in patients. Ineffective management of pain and anxiety during the wound closure process can have adverse effects, such as increased blood pressure and pulse rate, procedure delays, higher risk of complications, greater need for the use of local anesthetics and decreased patient satisfaction This scientific paper aims to analyze the results of music therapy interventions on reducing pain and anxiety levels in patients who experience lacerations and require wound suturing in the emergency room. After this intervention, it is known that there is a decrease in the level of pain and anxiety of patients during wound suturing. It is hoped that music therapy can be used as a new strategy with minimal side effects as a non-pharmacological pain and anxiety management effort in patients who require wound suturing in the emergency room.
