Abstract
Nursing rounds are structured activities that are essential to ensure patient comfort, safety, and the fulfillment of care needs. Lack of knowledge and skills among nurses in conducting nursing rounds can hinder the healing process and reduce the quality of care. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing round education using the NEPIL method in improving the knowledge and skills of nurses in Lantai 18 of RSPPN Panglima Besar Soedirman. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 6 nurses who received education on the NEPIL nursing round method during a one-day session held on April 18, 2025. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Wilcoxon test for cognitive and the Paired t-test for affective. The analysis showed a significant improvement in cognitive aspects, with the mean pre-test score of 7.33 increasing to 8.83 in the post-test p-value = 0.024. For the affective aspect, the mean score rose from 19.50 to 26.83, with a p-value of < 0.001. These results indicate that education on the NEPIL nursing round method is effective in improving nurses’ cognitive and affective. It is recommended that the hospital implement the NEPIL nursing round method.
