Abstract
Effective diabetes management, including adherence to medication and diet, as well as family support, plays a crucial role in controlling blood glucose levels and reducing the risk of complications. Poor lifestyle can disrupt blood sugar stability, therefore proper diabetes diet education is highly needed. This research employs a case study method, using a family nursing care approach towards Mr M family. Information was obtained through interviews, observation, and document analysis with one adult patient with diabetes mellitus who was the participant in this study. The problems that arose in Mr M family, especially Ms M with diagnoses of Unstable Blood Glucose Levels and Ineffective Management, were identified. After a 3x24 hour intervention, the evaluation results showed that the nursing care problems had been resolved. Education, Diet Management, and Diabetic Foot Exercises can be good interventions for controlling Diabetes Mellitus, and it is hoped that future researchers can provide better nursing care so that the nursing care problems encountered receive appropriate nursing care.
