Abstract
Background: Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder that can cause a variety of symptoms, one of which is social isolation. Social isolation is characterized by withdrawal from the environment and lack of communication which can degrade the mental and physical condition of the client. Untreated social isolation can increase the risk of depression, anxiety, and even trigger the onset of other psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions and others. The role of the nurse is essential to help patients re-establish healthy social relationships. Objective: To provide an overview of comprehensive psychiatric nursing care for Mr. R patients who are experiencing social isolation in Edelweis Room 2 of RSKD Duren Sawit. Method: The design used in this study is a descriptive research design with a case study approach method. Results: In the study, predisposing factors were found in the form of repeated failures in getting jobs. In addition, precipitation factors that trigger problems are lack of emotional support and absence of visits from family while in the hospital. The coping mechanism is at a low level of self-esteem. The two nursing diagnoses that were enforced were Chronic Low Self-Esteem and Social Isolation. The implementation of nursing was carried out for five days with socialization and self-esteem promotion interventions, as well as the right implementation strategy. Conclusion: Nursing care for Mr. R can improve the patient's ability to establish social interaction and reduce signs and symptoms of social isolation. These findings confirm the importance of implementing structured and sustainable nursing interventions in addressing social isolation. In addition, the need for family involvement in the treatment process to accelerate the recovery of the patient's social function.
