Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a common chronic disease in Indonesia and is a major cause of stroke and heart failure complications. Headaches due to increased blood pressure are often reported by hypertension patients. In addition to pharmacological therapy, non-pharmacological therapies such as foot massage can provide relaxation effects and lower blood pressure. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of foot massage therapy in reducing pain intensity and blood pressure in hypertension patients. Method: Qualitative research with a case study approach on Mr. S. Data collection through interviews, observations, and physical examinations. The intervention consisted of foot massage for 3 consecutive days with a duration of 15 minutes per session. Results: The main nursing diagnosis was Acute Pain related to physical injury agent. After the intervention, there was a decrease in pain scale from severe to mild, improved sleep comfort, decreased anxiety, and decreased blood pressure. Conclusion: Foot massage therapy in nursing care has proven effective in reducing pain intensity and blood pressure in hypertension patients.
