Abstract

Background: Gout arthritis, a painful form of arthritis, can develop as a result of repeated attacks of gout pain. In Indonesia itself, the number of gout sufferers is increasing from year to year, this is caused by the implementation of an unhealthy lifestyle, consuming lots of foods high in purine and lack of public knowledge about gout arthritis. If the problem is not resolved, it will change the quality of life and role of Mrs. N's family. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide family nursing care to Mrs. N with Gout Arthritis in RT 03 W 07, Limo Village, Depok City. Method: The research design of this case uses a descriptive research type with a case study approach through the implementation of nursing assessments, determining diagnoses and scoring, planning nursing actions, implementing nursing implementation, and nursing evaluation. Results: The results of the nursing problems obtained are acute pain related to the inability of the family to care for family members with gout arthritis problems, secondly ineffective health maintenance related to the lack of utilization of health care facilities. After 3x24 hour intervention, the results of the nursing problem evaluation have been resolved. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the demonstration of massage relaxation techniques can be a good intervention to control pain in gout arthritis. It is hoped that further researchers can provide better care.
