Abstract
This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by political buzzers in the presidential campaign of the Prabowo-Gibran pair during the campaign period from November 2023 to February 2024 on the social media platform Twitter. The hypodermic needle theory approach is used as a conceptual framework to understand how messages conveyed by buzzers can directly and significantly influence audiences. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through content analysis, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings reveal that political buzzers' strategies in political communication through social media, particularly Twitter, are instrumental in building a positive image of the candidate Prabowo Subianto. These strategies involve the roles of opinion leaders (macro accounts) and micro/nano buzzers in disseminating specific narratives and implementing organized strategies to construct a positive image, influence public opinion, and respond to opposition narratives. The strategies employed include the structured development of messages, such as threads and narratives relevant to issues important to society. Political buzzers utilize patterns of repetition and amplification to ensure that these messages are widely disseminated and persist within public discourse.
