Abstract
Prediabetes is a condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels that exceed normal limits but have not yet reached the diagnostic threshold for diabetes. The prevalence of prediabetes has increased globally and nationally. Office workers are at risk of prediabetes because they work for 8 hours in a sitting position, resulting in less physical activity. This sedentary lifestyle can contribute to an increase in body mass index, a known risk factor for prediabetes. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of prediabetes among office workers of PT XYZ East Jakarta in 2024. This study used a cross-sectional study design with primary data and secondary data from medical check-up results in 2024. The proportion of prediabetes in PT XYZ office workers was 16.1%. Factors associated with prediabetes in PT XYZ office workers are worker age and hypertension. The results of multivariate analysis showed that worker age (POR 7.401; 95% CI: 1.282 - 42.715) was the most dominant factor in the incidence of prediabetes in PT XYZ office workers. The company can conduct early detection and screening to determine the health risks of workers, especially prediabetes and diabetes, and conduct various programs related to a healthy lifestyle regularly.
