Abstract

MSMEs play a vital role as one of the significant pillars of the economy in its contribution to state revenue. On the other hand, the Government requires halal certification for food and beverage products produced by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as of October 18, 2026. However, the proportion of MSMEs that have obtained halal certification is still relatively low when compared to the total number of MSMEs operating in Jakarta. The purpose of the study is to generate and describe the effect of religiosity, halal literacy, and perceived benefits on the interest of MSMEs in Jakarta to carry out halal certification of their products. The object of this research is the interest in applying for halal certification. This research applies quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires involving 100 respondents using PLS, outer model, and inner model. The results of this study indicate that religiosity, halal literacy, and perceived benefits affect the interest in applying for halal certification of Jakarta MSMEs.
