Abstract

The majority of Indonesians live below the welfare line. Indonesia is known as a country with a majority Muslim population. This sizable Muslim population is an illustration of the potential of zakat which is quite large as well. However, it is regrettable that this potential is not in line with its realization in the metropolitan city of DKI Jakarta. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of zakat knowledge, trust, and subjective norms on ASN's decision to pay zakat at BAZNAS DKI Jakarta Province with religiosity as a moderating variable. Quantitative methods were used in this study. The data in this study were collected through distributing questionnaires through Google Form. Respondents of this study amounted to 123 Muslim people who work as ASN and pay zakat at BAZNAS DKI Jakarta Province. Data analysis using the partial least square method using Smart-PLS software and with moderation tests. The results of this study prove that trust and subjective norms affect the decision to pay zakat while zakat knowledge has no effect on the decision to pay zakat and religiosity cannot moderate zakat knowledge, trust, and subjective norms on the decision to pay zakat. This research implies the need to increase trust and strengthen subjective norms through education, socialization, and transparency by BAZNAS DKI Jakarta Province to encourage ASN's decision to pay zakat.
