Abstract
Sending migrant workers to foreign countries, one of which is South Korea, is an effort made by the Indonesian government to overcome the problem of lack of jobs in the country. Overall, this research aims to find out the efforts made by BP2MI as a protective body and representative of the Indonesian government in ensuring the safety and safety of PMI in South Korea during the Covid-19 pandemic. To answer the formulation of the problem, the author uses the concept of international migration and human security. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative with techniques for collecting various primary and secondary data, as well as interviews with resource persons who are related to research topics. The results of the study show that BP2MI has succeeded in upholding human security in protecting PMI in South Korea during the Covid-19 pandemic. As for the things that make BP2MI successful in carrying out these protection efforts, namely complying with and implementing the provisions set by WHO, as well as communication between the Indonesian government through BP2MI and the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, with the South Korean government regarding the guarantees given by the South Korean government to PMI that was trapped by South Korea during the Covid-19 pandemic. BP2MI is also active in carrying out campaigns regarding the handling of Covid-19 through its official account, which makes it very easy for PMI to find it difficult to find information in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic panic.
