Abstract

The Chronic Disease Management Program, also known as Prolanis, was established by the government and BPJS Kesehatan in Indonesia to address the high cases of hypertension and diabetes mellitus type 2. Many individuals with chronic diseases are not taking advantage of this program. A study was conducted to identify and analyze the factors associated with the utilization of Prolanis at the Puskesmas Kecamatan Kembangan in 2024. The research used a quantitative descriptive approach and a cross-sectional study design, with 118 Prolanis participants as the sample. The results showed that distance, knowledge, perception of illness, family support, and the role of health workers were significantly associated with the utilization of Prolanis (p-value<0,05). Participants who had good knowledge and perception of illness, high family support and role of health workers, also close distance to the puskesmas were more likely to utilize Prolanis. Age, gender, and latest schooling did not show a significant association. The role of health workers was identified as the dominant factor, with participants who experienced a higher role of health workers being 17 times more likely to utilize Prolanis. Hopefully, health workers will always play an active role in order to get a positive response from participants.
