Abstract

Abstract Adolescents face significant risks related to nutritional issues due to limited knowledge about nutrition and errors in food choices, which can adversely affect their health, especially concerning obesity. Mass media, idols, and artists often serve as sources of exposure that trigger adolescents' obsession with achieving a slim body and fear of becoming overweight. Korean waves influences contribute to excessive idol worship, notably influencing desired body perceptions, particularly those related to K-pop idols' body images. Excessive preoccupation with body perceptions can lead to unhealthy diet patterns and restrictive eating behaviors, ultimately resulting in eating disorders that impact adolescents' health and nutritional status. This study utilized a cross-sectional method with random sampling via questionnaires and measurements of respondents' nutritional status. The result of the analysis show a significant relationship between Korean waves (Celebrity) Hallyu exposure, Body image, Eating disorder tendencies, and Nutritional Status among adolescents at SMK Kesehatan Dwi Putri Husada, with a significance level of <0.05 (specifically 0.000). Analytical results indicate associations between respondents' nutritional status and Korean waves (Celebrity) Hallyu exposure (P= 0.008), Body image (P= 0.000), and Eating disorder tendencies (P=0.000). keywords : Adolesence, Body image, Eating disorders, Korean waves, Nutritional status
