Abstract

ABSTRACT The construction of Nusantara Capital City has become a widely reported phenomenon through mass media, particularly online media. In this development process, online media serves as a readily accessible and widely used information medium for the public. This study aims to analyze how Detik.com and Tempo.co frame the news about the construction of Nusantara Capital City and to reflect on the media ideologies of these two outlets. The study employs a qualitative method with a constructivist paradigm and Robert N. Entman's framing analysis model to identify the news coverage presented by both media on the capital city's development. The findings reveal that Detik.com tends to support the government project with optimism and encouragement for the development, whereas Tempo.co is more critical, monitoring the project's implementation with a focus on potential problems, sustainability, and societal welfare. Both media provide different framings; however, in their approach, they both acknowledge the importance of this project.
