Abstract
Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that causes growth and development disorders in children. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting is still high, which has an impact on long-term economic productivity and health. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between family resilience and maternal characteristics and the incidence of stunting among toddlers in Grogol Village, Depok City. This research uses a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 358 toddlers selected through purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through questionnaires and anthropometric measurements, then analyzed using the chi-square test. The research results show that there is no significant relationship between family resilience, maternal education, and maternal age and the incidence of stunting. Mothers with high or low education may experience stunting in toddlers, but in this study mothers who had toddlers who were not stunted were more likely than toddlers with stunting because every posyandu provided education about stunting, so this was associated with a low incidence of stunting. Good family resilience also plays a role in preventing stunting. In conclusion, family resilience and maternal characteristics do not have a significant relationship with the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Efforts to prevent stunting must include family empowerment and education for mothers regarding child nutrition.
