Abstract

The intersection of rising health issues, an expanding population, and a heightened demand for health services exceeding the available workforce poses a significant challenge in the healthcare sector. Achieving a balance between personnel and workload is crucial for delivering effective and efficient services. This study evaluates the analysis of pharmaceutical personnel requirements at Izza Karawang Hospital by employing the Workload Indicators of Staffing Need (WISN) method, which determines workforce needs based on workload. Utilizing descriptive qualitative methods, the research was conducted between May and June 2024, incorporating in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Results indicated that implementing the WISN method complied with established guidelines, revealing a WISN Ratio of 0.84 (<1), suggesting a shortage of pharmaceutical personnel. Consequently, additional staff, particularly in pharmaceutical installations, is warranted.
