Abstract

Teenagers' lack of knowledge about reproductive health has an impact on risky behavior that can be detrimental to teenagers' futures. To overcome the lack of knowledge of adolescents regarding reproductive health, health education is needed as an effort to broaden adolescents' knowledge regarding reproductive health more broadly and in depth. The use of media in health education is considered as one way to optimize teenagers' understanding of reproductive health. Some progress has been achieved in the development of educational media that uses advanced technology, such as audiovisual approaches via video. This research uses a quantitative research design in the form of a quasi-experiment with a pre-test - post-test design without a control group and a form of intervention by watching and listening to animated videos. The sample population of class X and XI students was 522 students. Sampling used purposive sampling, the sample consisted of 66 students. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, there is a significant effect of animated videos on knowledge about adolescent reproductive health, with a p value of 0.001 with a significance level of 0.05.
