Abstract
Music is a means of entertainment that is easily accessible to various groups of society. Apart from being a means of entertainment, music also has a certain impact on listeners, especially in the psychological aspect. The music in its presentation is often accompanied by a music video consisting of signs that have a certain meaning, as is the case in the music video for "Split" by NIKI. Research on the signs in the music video "Split" uses a method in the form of Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis. This study was carried out to find the meaning of the message in the form of a depiction of the identity crisis contained in it, both in terms of causal factors, examples of experiences, and other related aspects. This research focuses on the experience of an identity crisis in the message conveyed by the writer and singer of the song "Split", NIKI. The message is conveyed using song media and supported by visual signs in the form of music videos. The use of signs in simple scenes in conveying messages through the music video for the song "Split" makes it an interesting research object for researchers. An identity crisis can be experienced by someone when facing situations, conditions and social culture that are different from their place of origin. The results of the research show that there is a depiction of an identity crisis in the analysis unit of the selected "Split" music video scene, especially in the aspects of cause, process and resolution.
