Abstract
Stroke is the second leading cause of death in the world and the number one cause of disability in the world. The high rate of stroke disability makes it difficult for sufferers to carry out daily activities. Family support has an important role in the ability of stroke sufferers to carry out daily activities, their role can help in the recovery process. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between family support and Activity Daily of Living (ADL) in post-ischemic stroke patients of productive age. This research uses a descriptive research method with an approach cross-sectional. This study used 83 samples with inclusion criteria for post-ischemic stroke patients with a productive age of 14-64 years in the neurology polyclinic at Tarakan Hospital, Jakarta. This research uses instruments Modified Barthel Index (MBI) and Riyadi Ruhyana Family Support. The results showed that the description of family support in ischemic stroke patients of productive age had an average score of 66.31 and the most family support was in the instrumental support domain, whereas Activity Daily of Living (ADL) has an average score of 72.87 with the highest average being in the chair/bed transfer domain. Based on the Pearson correlation test, the r value is obtainedtable=0.549 and p-value namely 0.000 (p<0.05) which states that H0 is rejected and shows that there is a relationship between family support and Activity Daily of Living (ADL) in Post-Ischemic Stroke Patients of Productive Age. rtable= 0.549, the results obtained are medium closeness. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between family support and Activity Daily of Living (ADL) in Post-Ischemic Stroke Patients of Productive Age. The results of the characteristics of respondents show that the majority of patients after ischemic stroke are in late productive age (54-64 years). Family support is important to pay attention to in the recovery process for ischemic stroke sufferers of productive age while carrying out daily activities.
