Abstract
Background: Tennis elbow is a common condition characterized by degeneration of the tendon in the elbow. It causes pain on the outer side of the elbow, particularly in the area of the lateral epicondyle and the extensor muscles of the wrist. This condition is typically caused by repetitive use of the extensor and pronator muscles of the forearm, leading to inflammation and pain. It results in pain, limited range of motion, spasms, and decreased muscle strength. This study aims to evaluate the benefits of using ultrasound, kinesiology taping, and eccentric exercise in reducing pain, improving joint movement, increasing muscle strength, and enhancing functionality in cases of tennis elbow. Design: The research method employed is a case study involving patients diagnosed with tennis elbow in the right elbow, undergoing therapy using ultrasound, kinesiology taping, and eccentric exercise over three therapy sessions. Results: After three therapy sessions, a decrease in pain, improvement in range of motion, increase in muscle strength, and enhancement in functional ability were observed. Conclusion: The application of ultrasound intervention, kinesiology taping, and eccentric exercises can reduce pain and improve functional ability in patients diagnosed with tennis elbow.
