Abstract
Background: The aims of this study is to determine how nurses care for clients with type II diabetes mellitus. Elevated blood sugar levels (Hyperglycemia), damage to pancreatic beta-cells, which are the organ of insulin production, causes insulin secretion and work to be disrupted. This is because the body cannot use the insulin hormone produced by the pancreas gland effectively and correctly. Diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial disease, genetic and environmental factors are the main factors in the process of disease onset. The focus of this research is to apply nursing care to Mrs. A who suffers from diabetes mellitus, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and nursing evaluation. Research Methods : This research uses a descriptive approach with the type of nursing care case study. Data collection methods are obtained through interviews (anamnesa), observation, physical examination, and documentation. Research Results : This study shows the results that the main nursing problem in Mrs. A's client is the instability of blood glucose levels associated with insulin retention in her disease. Given education about diabetes mellitus and giving Apidra injection 3x8 units, as well as teaching foot exercises. The aim was to give Mrs. A an understanding of the disease process, as well as to control or stabilize blood glucose levels. This is a nursing action, and nursing evaluation is completed in accordance with the objectives and result criteria that have been established.
