Abstract
Background: Gastritis is considered a common health issue but if it is left untreated can lead to severe complications including death. Irregular eating habits and a lack of proper handwashing are factors of gastritis is influenced. Method: The family nursing care approach is used in this case study for the treatment of gastritis in Mrs. L within the family of Mr. W, specifically in the Limo Village area. Results: The scientific paper finds that nursing problems were identified in the family of Mr. W specifically Mrs. L including the problem of Ineffective Health Maintenance which is related to the family’s inability to care for a member with gastritis and the problem of Health Behavior Likely to be Risky which is linked to the family’s unhealty lifestyle. After 3x34 hours of nursing interventions, the evaluation shows that all nursing problems were addressed. The interventions included pain management and modifying the environment through consistent and correct handwashing. Specific implementations included progressive muscle relaxation therapy and warm compresses. Conclusion: progressive muscle relaxation therapy and warm compresses is found to be effective in reducing pain levels in patient with gastritis.
