Abstract
Introduction: Pneumonia is a lung infection that attacks the alveoli and produces pus and fluid, which interferes with its ability to absorb oxygen. Symptoms that often appear include shortness of breath and cough with phlegm. Active Cycle of Breathing breathing exercises are useful for clearing mucus, maintaining lung health, and increasing air flow when exhaling. Objective: To determine nursing care for pneumonia patients with ineffective airway clearance nursing problems using the ACBT method. Method: The research design is qualitative research with a case study approach. This case study is a medical surgical nursing case study that focuses on the case of pneumonia in the Anyelir Room, South Tangerang City Hospital. Results: Application of ACBT was able to reduce respiratory rate by increasing lung elasticity and compliance, thereby increasing lung ventilation. This is proven by evaluating the respiratory rate and oxygen saturation. The client improved when given the ACBT technique for 3 consecutive days. Conclusion: Evaluation of changes in airway conditions before and after ACBT training has been resolved. ACBT can be used as evidence based practice in providing professional nursing care.
