Abstract

Background: One of the main policy steps to reduce maternal and newborn mortality is to improve the quality of health services. As an alternative, post-cesarean section procedures can be carried out if there are medical indications from both maternal and fetal factors. A non-pharmacological method to reduce pain after a cesarean section is to do endorphin massage. Purpose: Identifying the success of applying endorphin massage therapy in nursing care for mothers with post-cesarean section pain. Methods: The design used in this case study is descriptive with a single case study. Interview techniques, physical examination, observation, and documentation were used to collect data. Results: The patient complained of pain on a scale of 6 so the main nursing diagnosis taken was acute pain. The main action chosen was endorphin therapy massage which resulted in a change in the pain scale to 4. Conclusion: There is an influence between the application of endorphin massage therapy, which is considered effective in reducing the pain scale in patients after a cesarean section.
