Abstract

Background: Hypertension, also known as the "silent killer," is characterized by mild or asymptomatic symptoms in most patients. Hypertension has significant prognostic implications and is a leading cause of global mortality. Method: This case study adopts a descriptive approach with a single case study design at Khidmat Sehat Afiat Hospital (KiSA) in Depok City. Inclusion criteria for this study include patients aged 30-65 years with a diagnosis of hypertension and compos metis condition who are willing to participate as respondents. Data collection methods include interviews, observations, document studies, and physical examinations. Specific intervention provided to patients is Swedish massage once daily based on standard operating procedures (SOP). Results: Assessment revealed that the patient experienced headache pain, described as resembling heavy burden, with persistent non-radiating pain, pain intensity level of 8, non-rhythmic, and accompanied by nausea and vomiting twice. Diagnoses included acute pain and nausea. Interventions included pain management and nausea management. Implementation aligned with the specific intervention, particularly Swedish massage relaxation therapy for 4x24 hours. Evaluation showed resolution of acute pain by day 4 and resolution of nausea by day 2. Conclusion: The application of Swedish massage to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive patients can be effective.
