Abstract

The incidence of low back pain (LBP) or lower back pain is still the leading cause of disability globally. According to the 2017 Global Burden of Disease Study, there was an increase in the incidence of NPB from 1990 to 2017, by 377.5 million and 577 million, respectively. NPB is generally associated with workers, for example, tailors; this causes a high sitting duration for tailors. Therefore, research on posture and sitting time for NPB complaints is essential. This research aims to determine the relationship between posture and sitting time and the incidence of NPB in PT Sempurna Jaya Makmur Mulia garment tailors in Bogor. The samples for this research were all garment tailors from PT Sempurna Jaya Makmur Mulia Bogor, who had worked for more than one year. This research uses an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional study approach using Nordic Body Map and RULA questionnaire. The sampling of 44 respondents was carried out using the random sampling method. This research proves that there is a significant relationship between sitting posture and the incidence of NPB (p = 0.001) in PT Sempurna Jaya Makmur Mulia Bogor tailors. However, significant between sitting time and the incidence of NPB cannot be determined in PT tailors Sempurna Jaya Makmur Mulia Bogor.
