Abstract
Background, On The Spot is an excellent varieties TRANS 7, This tv show presents a documentary video with different themes and topics, creative team plays a role in determining the topic of the event program On The Spot. Research purposes, Knowing the role of the creative team in determining the topic of the show On The Spot edition of "New Year Special 2016". Theory, used is the communication theory, theory of journalism, broadcasting theory, and the theory of television. Metodologi research, qualitative descriptive, data collection based on interviews with key informants and informants, triangulating. Research result, The creative team proved instrumental in the selection of topics show On The Spot edition of "New Year Special 2016". Conclusion, The creative team proved instrumental in the selection of topics show On The Spot, topics presented at the event program is the result of a brief creative division TRANS 7. Suggestion, Policy decisions affecting the producers of the creative team on the topic of the event.
